This is a typical website proposal used when requesting web development work from a web designer...

My Company, Local Web Solutions is pleased to submit a proposal for the development of your website.

The terms of this proposal are valid until December 23^rd, 2010.

PURPOSE OF WEBSITE

The purpose of this website is to promote Affiliate products for distributors of high quality hand made Wooden Toys, games and puzzles to a global market you have identified through your research.

Your website will serve as the focal point of your global entry intp the online toy retailing market.

SERVICES

Local Web Solutions will provide the following services during the development of your website:

• Develop a page layout, look and feel to be used throughout the site using your existing SBI package, username and password, with your guidance using one of the standard SBI templates.

• Register a domain name for you using SBI! As you requested, I will review your domain name and help you to choose just the right one for your website. My thoughts are that ‘wooden toys’, ‘timber toys’ or something similar should be included in the domain name with possibly a word at either the start or the end to let our visitors know exactly what your site is about. Testing the keywords for maximum profitability and deciding on the right ones to use would of course determine which phrase we use.

• Design the navigation scheme according to your instructions.

• Develop 5 pages of new content including three articles written by other experts in the field sourced from a premium article directory with the Author’s permission and including a link to these expert’s websites at the end of each article, and two pages of original content researched and written either by myself or by a third party, all of which is acceptable to you as my client. The articles written by other Authors will be preceded with a keyword focused two or three paragraph introduction and will then be summarized at the end by myself to optimize the pages for Search Engine rankings.

• Edit, optimize and incorporate content in the form of text, photographs and images provided by you into the website.

• Optimize the website for search engine positioning using keywords relevant to your niche market.

• Incorporate a new strategy that I have been using to have my sites listed Free in the Yahoo search Directory in less than 48 hours in some cases (saving US$299). I cannot guarantee that this will work on your website, nor that you will rank highly in their search results, but to date it has proven to be an extremely effective strategy, is quite acceptable to the search engines and also appears to work well with getting listed quickly in Google.

• Create a Site Index to maximize search engine positioning for your website. A Site Index is one of your most valuable pages and should be included in every website you build.

• Create a Contact Us page incorporating a form using SBI’s Form Build It to minimize spam email messages coming to you from your website.

• Create a Web-blog (Blog) page as part of our Search Engine optimization strategy for your website.

• Create a Newsletter sign up page that pops under your home page when it is first loaded in a visitor’s Browser.

• Provide several other proprietary page optimization and traffic generation solutions for your website that have proven extremely effective.

• Incorporate a Newsletter subscription form into the home page of your website to further encourage visitors to join your mailing list. This form is in addition to the subscriber pop under page mentioned above. This type of subscription form has been proven to increase subscriber signups by up to 400% over asking people to simply click on a link or using a subscriber pop up page in isolation.

• Create an internal link block for the bottom of each page to increase your site’s internal page rank. See the bottom of the http://www.hobbyandlifestyle.com home page for an example.

• Take the affiliate links you provide me for up to 5 programs (after I have reviewed them at your request for product and program integrity, I will assist you in joining these programs), and using the SBI Tracker Link tool, create links so that you can track how many people are visiting your Merchant sites.

• Submit two of your articles to Article Directories to assist in getting free traffic and building Google Page Rank.

• Provide technical support after the website is online.

While 10 pages of content plus other ancillary pages is a small website, it is an excellent start for your online marketing Business.

The more pages the better of course, and I’d advise you to keep building more content pages, say at least 1 per week, until your site has at least 40 pages and if possible many more.

If this isn’t possible, then targeted advertising is the most cost effective way of attracting visitors to your site, where we will attempt to capture their name and email address for follow up later.

PROPOSED SITE MAP

The following site map is proposed. The site map may change during the development of the website.

• Home Page – including an introduction to wooden toys, introducing you as an enthusiast and a subscriber sign up form to capture your visitor’s name and email address for follow up later through your email Newsletter

• Article Pages – up to 10 Search Engine optimized article pages, written by you, myself and others pre-selling affiliate products and providing information to visitors searching the web looking for information on wooden toys

• A Web-blog (Blog) page for additional information and to assist your SE Optimization efforts (using my proprietary strategy mentioned earlier)

• A Newsletter sign up page

• A Contact Us page– including your company address, phone, fax, and an online contact form to minimize spam email messages

• A detailed Site Map – an outline of your website to aid both people and Search Engines finding your web pages

CONDITIONS

I’ve made the following assumptions

• Up to two images per page averaged across the site

• Images are defined as photographs, illustrations, animations, and custom graphics. Features common to every page of the design (banners, icons, menu graphics, etc.) are not considered images.

• Up to three hours of follow-up support during the first two months after the website is put online. This support can be in the form of site modifications, minor updates, technical support, or consultation.

• Hosting of your website is through your existing SBI account and is not included in this quotation

• Search engine submission of pages is done by SBI

• You will provide all images for the website. You will also need to provide me the text to be used in 5 of the site content pages and the home page. I will write the text for other pages such as Contact Us, Site Map, etc. and help edit your text to optimize it for readability and search engine optimization, but you will at all times maintain total editorial control.

EXCLUSIONS

This proposal does not cover:

• HTML instruction

• Computer instruction

• Website design instruction

• Website support beyond that specified herein

• Fees related to merchant accounts and online payment processing

• Website maintenance fees

SCHEDULE

This schedule defines the major tasks to be completed during the life of the project. Individual tasks may be added, deleted or moved as required to meet the demands of the design. The elapsed times are estimates and may vary depending on workload, changes, customer submissions, and third-party service providers.

Phase 1

• Proposal review

• Contract signing

• Initial payment – 1/3 of the total cost

Phase 2 (10 to 15 days)

• Decide on and register your domain name through SBI

• Design of site theme, look and feel, template selection, Fonts etc.

• Development of navigation scheme

• Additional keyword and competition research

• Finalization of site map, site layout, and final preparations for construction

• Client review and approval

• Progress payment – 1/3 of the total cost

Phase 3 (15 to 20 days)

• Receive content and submission of you including your trial home page content (I’ll review and edit this if necessary), and 5 keyword focused content pages containing articles for tier two pages, any photographs that you would like to include, affiliate link information for inclusion in your pages, the name of your new Newsletter and anything else that you would like to include in the site but just aren’t sure where it would go ;-)

• I’ll have two new articles written and source 3 more from other authors for use with their permission to give your website 10 pages of keyword focused content

• Incorporation of your material into your website including creating your final Sitemap, Newsletter subscription form and pop up page, Contact Us form and web page, your Web Log (Blog) page, a Links page and the other pages outlined above

• Optimize all of these pages for search engine positioning and incorporate my proprietary fast-track Yahoo (and often Google) inclusion methods into your website

• Submit two of your best articles to two of the most appropriate article directories

• Build links to 5 appropriate websites to start to build Page Rank

• Test all links, forms and email addresses to make sure that they all work effectively

• Present your site to you for review and approval

• Final payment – 1/3 of the total cost

Phase 4 (3 to 5 days)

• Transfer and handover of ownership of the site to you

Payment can be made by three instalments using Paypal for payment if you are happy with this proposal.

RECURRING FEES

You should expect the following recurring fees:

Annual Fee for SBI US$299

Local Web Solutions is not providing the Site Build It package for this website. Sitesell.com will bill you separately for this.

WEBSITE MAINTENANCE

Local Web Solutions will provide periodic website maintenance and support at the rate of US$70.00 per hour at your request.

Website maintenance is not included in the quoted Design Fees, however as my client, I want to help you succeed in any way I can. Therefore if you have a website related problem at any time, let me know and I’ll see what I can do to help.

I guarantee that I will work to the best of my abilities to help you to make your web Business successful. I want you to be totally delighted with your new website.

You will still have to create new content over time for your site to achieve top search engine rankings, but this will provide you with a very good start online.
